The Psycho-Verbal Rehabilitation and Social Assistance Department is a subdivision of the IMSP Republican Rehabilitation Center for Children, which aims to empower\/rehabilitate cognitive, behavioral functions, speech deficits, psychological counseling and social assistance, etc.<\/p>\n
The major goal of the department is to provide efficient specialized services for psycho-pedagogical and social recovery of children with disabilities, as early as possible. The department’s professionals will propose individual projects and services for the purpose of medical rehabilitation, overcoming developmental delay, improving the general condition, as well as assisting the family in the process of adapting to the difficulties related to the child’s health and care problems.<\/p>\n
The department aims to achieve the following objectives:<\/p>\n
Psycho-pedagogical rehabilitation of children with disabilities and their integration into society.<\/p>\n
Restoring damaged functions or forming compensation mechanisms of the body to achieve independence and a better quality of life for the patient.<\/p>\n
Preventing the progression of the disease and the appearance of complications.
\nEducating and re-educating the child and preparing him\/her for self-care, school and social integration activities.
\nMultidisciplinary assistance to families for the purpose of training them in child care and communication issues.
\nHarmonizing the child-parent relationship and reducing the phenomenon of abandonment by providing assistance and counseling to families in difficulty.<\/p>\n
Operation of the department<\/p>\n
The capacity of the Department allows for the provision of recovery assistance during the day for up to 25 children.<\/p>\n
Each child benefits from a complex assessment by the multidisciplinary team, during which the psycho-verbal state and behavioral disorders, the degree of cognitive, socio-emotional and adaptation impairment are established. As a result of the assessment, an individual rehabilitation program is developed.<\/p>\n
The child is recorded daily at his\/her meetings in the Department by registering in the daily meeting record register.<\/p>\n
Children attend the Department with or without a companion, depending on age, functional diagnosis and intellectual abilities.<\/p>\n
Department activity<\/p>\n
The activity of the Psycho-verbal Rehabilitation and Social Assistance Department is carried out in spaces specially equipped for the rehabilitation process: offices for meetings with the psychologist, psychopedagogue and speech therapist. At the same time, the department has space adapted for the nutrition and rest of the specialists.<\/p>\n
The services offered in the department are adapted to the individual requirements of the child and the family, providing services of:<\/p>\n
Multidisciplinary or specialist assessment;<\/p>\n
Individual rehabilitation program;
\nSpeech therapist, psychologist, social worker, individual and group psychopedagogue services;
\nFamily information services;
\nInformation, courses and seminars for parents and specialists.<\/p>\n
