Innovation in pediatric rehabilitation: the Luna EMG robot, at IMSP CRRC

Innovations continue at the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Children! This time, through the Center for Centralized Public Procurement in Healthcare (CAPCS), a state-of-the-art, advanced neurorehabilitation robot has been acquired!
The series of training sessions conducted by Medexcom on the use of the Luna EMG medical device—developed by the company EGZOTech—is currently underway!
#LunaEMG is an advanced robot for neurorehabilitation and physiotherapy, specifically designed for the recovery of upper and lower limbs in patients with neurological or orthopedic impairments.
Key features of the device:
• Electromyography (EMG)-guided assistance: The robot’s most significant innovation is its ability to detect even the faintest muscle contractions in a patient. When a patient attempts to move a limb and reaches a specific electrical threshold, the robot intervenes instantly to assist in completing the movement. This process stimulates neuroplasticity, helping the brain form new neural connections to regain mobility.
• Interchangeable attachments: The device utilizes robotic accessories that can be quickly swapped to train and rehabilitate all major joints: the shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, hip, knee, or ankle.
• Precise assessment and diagnosis: Beyond its therapeutic role, the Luna EMG functions as a diagnostic tool; it accurately measures muscle activity, strength, proprioception (the sense of body position), and spasticity levels, while generating detailed progress reports. • Wide range of patients: It is successfully used in rehabilitation following a stroke (cerebrovascular accident), traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy, as well as in early post-operative recovery (orthopedics) or for patients who are bedridden following trauma.
Everything for the children of our country!
