Training course on strengthening national capacities in mental health and human rights through the application of the QualityRights tool

During May 5-6, 2026, specialists from the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Children, Tatiana Silistraru, Tania Cebanică and Ecaterina Gincota participated in the training course on strengthening national capacities in mental health and human rights through the application of the QualityRights tool, organized by the World Health Organization in Moldova, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova and the “Nicolae Testemiţanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Quality Rights is a set of standards and tools for assessing and improving respect for human rights and the quality of mental health services and social support. It promotes person-centered care, social inclusion and alignment of services with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Over the two days, mental health professionals, service managers, policymakers and peer advocates worked together to apply the QualityRights tool, identify solutions to reduce coercive practices and promote recovery-oriented, person-centered and human rights-based services.
